Ronald Koeman has a big job and plenty of big decisions ahead of him at Barcelona, and he may have made his first.
According to reliable Catalan radio station RAC1, Koeman has informed Luis Suárez that he isn’t part of his plans for next season.
Suárez scored 21 goals in all competitions in 2019/20 but the striker is now 33 and Koeman will be planning more long-term with his side.
With a 32-year-old Lionel Messi indispensable, there isn’t room for another aging forward.
The report claims Barcelona could even be willing to terminate Suárez’s contract, which is set to expire in 10 months.
The Uruguayan has been linked with ex-club Ajax, where he scored 111 goals in 159 appearances before joining Liverpool in January 2012.
